“East London Small Business Centre (ELSBC), one of the UK’s leading enterprise agencies, commented today that demand for their Waterfront Studios workspace is continuing to rise despite the current economic climate and the increasing impact of the credit crunch.

Trinity Buoy Lighthouse glimpsed from the Thames foreshore

John Rennie’s interesting local history blog which has over 600 history pieces, has an article on Trinity Buoy Wharf and the history of Trinity House:

“Lighthouses evoke pictures of stormy seas and Grace Darling bravely heading out to save stricken mariners. The names Forties, Fastnet and Dogger come to mind rather than Blackwall, Bow and Wapping. But all lighthouse keepers had to train somewhere, and for decades it was used both to train lighthouse keepers and to trial lights for Trinity House, the body that to this day runs all the lighthouses in England and Wales.”

Sustainable Living in Container City

Thames Clippers crew hailed for river rescue

It was back to business as usual for the Hurricane after the dramatic rescue. “As a company we recognise their achievements and will reward them for their efforts,” said the Clippers spokeswoman.

Successful free ticket holders will be located in a standing area in front of The O2 (formerly known as the Dome) on the South side of the River. The ballot was strictly random and free ticket holders, can receive a ticket for any of the days including Qualifying Day. They cannot be swapped and are not interchangable. Of course some “Grandstand” tickets may still be available from the organisers website.

For the second year running, the world’s newest, fastest and most exciting motor sport will be touching down in London this summer.

The Red Bull Air Race World Series will bring the world’s best pilots to the UK to battle for the supremacy of the skies just metres above the river Thames and only feet away from Trinity Buoy Wharf.

Tenants of TBW and their friends have been invited to the informal viewing area outside The Riverside Building at TBW, where they will have a front row seat to all the action.

However members of the general public will need to acquire tickets from Red Bull organisers, as security at Trinity Buoy Wharf will be tight with no access without specific invitation from Urban Space Management or a tenant.

The appeal has gone out for Trinity Buoy Wharf tenants to donate a piece of work (photograph, painting, fashion outfit or accessory, design etc) for an exciting exhibition that hopes to give visitors an idea of the creative talent that is based on site.

Alternatively, organisers are open to ideas and suggestions on how you would like to be part of this exciting event.

As part of the weekend’s festivities there will be a Trinity Buoy Wharf Regatta taking place on the Thames and river Lea on Sunday 21st September. We are looking for crews or those with the following vessels to take part: sailing boats, rowing boats, kayaks, canoes, tugs and anything else that floats (within reason).
