Preparations for this weekends London Red Bull Air Race continue. The control tower and stands in nearby East India Dock are almost complete. This looks as if it will be part of a VIP or “High Flyers” area. Also the “course” is already laid out, marked by orange buoys on the River Thames itself. Lets hope the nice weather keeps up, its been ideal over the last few days, though slightly more overcast today.
Some local residents who applied for Free Tickets to the event have not been able to get all the free tickets they wanted as the event was massively over subscribed. The offer was only open to residents of Greenwich, Newham or Tower Hamlets. Applicants are being informed by email.
Successful free ticket holders will be located in a standing area in front of The O2 (formerly known as the Dome) on the South side of the River. The ballot was strictly random and free ticket holders, can receive a ticket for any of the days including Qualifying Day. They cannot be swapped and are not interchangable. Of course some “Grandstand” tickets may still be available from the organisers website.

For the second year running, the world’s newest, fastest and most exciting motor sport will be touching down in London this summer.
The Red Bull Air Race World Series will bring the world’s best pilots to the UK to battle for the supremacy of the skies just metres above the river Thames and only feet away from Trinity Buoy Wharf.
Tenants of TBW and their friends have been invited to the informal viewing area outside The Riverside Building at TBW, where they will have a front row seat to all the action.
